Descriptions of Each Plant Variety

TOMATOES
 
BrandyWine
One of the best-tasting tomatoes.  Very rich and distinctive flavor.  Large fruits, often over 1 lb.
 
Cherry Bomb
Cherry tomato.  Vigorous plants produce high yields of uniform, vivid red fruits with ideal cherry size for snacking.  Classic cherry tomato flavor – firm and sweet.
 
New Girl
New Girl
 
First early, great flavor.  Fruits average 4-6 oz. and have great flavor.  Slicing tomato.
 
Sakura Tomato
Sakura
 
Early, delicious, attractive cherry tomatoes.  Great yielder of bright red, shiny, medium-sized cherry tomatoes that average 15 grams.
 
Grape Tomato

 
Unique Strawberry-shaped fruit!  High-yielding plants.  Fruits have a beautiful, deep red color with broad shoulders tapering to a blunt point at the blossom end, giving them a heart-like appearance.  Firm, meaty texture with excellent sweet flavor.

CUCUMBERS
 
Socrates Hybrid Greenhouse Cucumber
 
Dark green, thin skinned, 7-8” fruits.  Suitable for growing indoors or outdoors.
 
Corinto Hybrid Slicing

Most productive slicer.  Dark green, uniform 7-8” slicing cucumber.  Small seed cavity.  Vigorous in both the field or greenhouse.
 
Katrina

 
Medium-sized greenhouse cucumber with great taste.  Great in a hoophouse or greenhouse setting.  Also can be grown outside.
 
Excelsior Hybrid Greenhouse Cucumber (great for pickling)
 
Attractive, high-yielding pickler for the greenhouse.  Produces dark green, blocky, nicely proportioned, 4-5” cucumbers with American0style spines.  Does well in screen houses, in the field under row cover, or wherever else pollinators are absent.
 
BELL PEPPERS
 
Olympus Hybrid Bell Peppers
Large Bell Peppers.  Medium size plants with good leaf cover.  High yielding, uniform fruit with good flavor.  Green on the vine, turn red on the vine if left longer.
 
Cupid Pepper

 
Early, sweet, mini bell pepper.  Fruits are blocky to slightly pointed, average 2” X 1 ¾ “ in size and are particularly sweet when red.  Fruit is smooth with excellent flavor.
 
Ace Bell Pepper
Extra-early, highly productive standard.  Medium sized 3-4 lobed plants.  Produces green, orange or red fruit – depending on how long they are left on the plant!
 
SPICY PEPPERS

Open pollinated jalapeno.  Traditional size, small plants.  Best for early season plantings.
 
HERBS
 
  Genovese Basil
Genovese
 

Classic Italian variety.  Authentic flavor and appearance.  Tall and relatively slow to bolt with large, dark green leaves about 3” long.  Flowers can also be used for any recipe that calls for basil or to garnish salads, soups and pasta.
 
Slow Bolt Cilantro
 
 
Hardy reseeding annual 2-3' plant.  Essential for preparing Mexican and Asian cuisines, harvest fresh leaves when plants are 4-6" tall.  Flowers attract beneficial insects and produce seed (Coriander).

Light green pods consist of 5-8 points. The standard variety in the South. Cream-colored flowers are also edible. An attractive ornamental, good in containers.

 The pods are slender and elegant with 5 points. Tall, open plants. Attractive flowers are also edible.

  Kentucky Wonder Bean

 
 
Kentucky Wonder is a brown-seeded bean noted for its exceptional flavor and its heavy crops of 9" green pods, borne in clusters. Pods are oval, thick, gently curved, meaty and tender, and they're stringless when young. It's been proven tops for productivity, flavor and wide adaptability; it's delicious fresh, frozen or dried for shell beans. Pole beans yield much longer than bush beans, right up to frost.

Provider can be planted earlier than other beans because it germinates well in cool soils. Compact plants are easy to grow and adaptable to diverse soil and climate conditions. Produces 5 1/2" fleshy round pod green beans. High resistance to bean mosaic virus and powdery mildew.
